The idea of Avocandle was born while waiting in line at a cafeteria.  My inspiration appeared on the display shelves – a half-sliced avocado.   The form was appealing and functional; it  fits ergonomically in one’s hands, and the recess could accommodate a candle.   
In rendering the Avocandle, the fruit’s typical curvature was modified to facilitate varied holding positions, with one hand or both.  After finalizing the form, oak and walnut wood were selected to reflect a natural look.   And to mimic the oxidation of the avocado’s flesh, brass and copper sheets were applied to the “exposed” area, which will patina over time.
A cluster of Avocandles can create interesting formations, either right side up or upside down.  

SheetSeat is made from a single piece of wood laminate or bamboo. The production process is straightforward, generating almost no waste. The simplicity of the design allows for savings in workmanship, manufacturing costs and energy consumption. The flat panel can be unfolded into the final chair position in a few easy steps, and folded back into the original 3/4 inch thick sheet, facilitating easy stacking and bulk transportation. The North Star collection features three distinct lamps - floor, table and pendant - which smoothly transition from bright day light to mellow night light.   

The "Flip to Sleep" table lamp version sits in one of two positions. In the upright position, the lamp emits white light for daytime activities.  As evening nears, flip the lamp ( like an hour glass) 180 degrees and be transformed by the multi-color LED lights, which provide calming energy for rest and sleep. To turn the lamp off, simply lay it on its side, length-wise.  With an opaque white body and wooden side panels, the light emits from a North Star design exposed by its form.   

The Floor lamp features the same design, situated atop a base. The Pendant Lamp includes half of the original hour glass design, and the day/night transition is powered by remote controlled LED light bulb.

This is for Star Wars lovers. An armchair design which evokes flashbacks and makes you feel like you are in a sci-fi movie.

A door handle design inspired by an infamous character, Captain Hook.  Using the hook in our daily routine triggers a flashback to the exciting moments of the story. The curve can also serve as a hanger.  

PalettePlatte appetizer platter is designed for comfortable eating and drinking while standing, eliminating the need for a table or counter-top. The aperture can accommodate the neck of a beer bottle, while the base of the bottle is held to support the plate. The other hand is free or holding a utensil. If you are not a beer drinker, the thinner neck of a wine glass can slide into the horns of the platter. The horns can also be used to hold a fork, spoon or knife. Could be made from different materials and can accommodate both right-handed and left-handed.

Whale serving and cooking tongs allow for minimal effort in grasping the desired portion. Unlike current market options, its curvature and ergonomic design facilitates ease of usage.

TelescoBowl is a functional, aesthetic centerpiece that saves storage space when not in use.  It is ideal for compact living spaces where cabinetry and drawer space is limited.  By lifting from the handles, the bowl expands and locks into usage position, where it can hold salad, fruit, munchies, chips, punch, etc.  The tiers can be independently rotated to feature a wave-like interior design.  The bowl also compresses in one easy motion, transforming into a flower-like topography that can be stored or used as a fruit tray.

Rotten Rack is a six-pronged, multi-function rack. The top hooks serve as hangers for jackets, scarves, bags, and other items, while the bottom portion holds umbrellas, baseball bats, etc. The de-constructivist approach of the structure carries through the items hung, displaying inner coat linings.

A "Do It Yourself" stool design that allows for flat shipping and easy storage. There is no hardware, only wine corks, allowing easy assembly, disassembly and reshipping. It is made out of 3/4" plywood. Straight forward manufacturing and labor efficient. Available in neutral wood and various colors.
